While 495 finished a disappointing 3-5 at the National Championship Tournament, the end of one of Loyola Mock Trial's most successful seasons left the eight team members and three graduating seniors lots to be proud of. Finishing with a 48-23-3 record, 7 Top Ten finishes, 5 Top Five finishes, and 2 Tournament championships, 495 became just the third team in Loyola history to compete at the National Championship. Seniors Matt McDonald, Janie Brittan, and Chris Riehlmann, competed for the last time as part of Loyola Mock Trial. Matt and Janie, along with Junior Devon Holstad, became the first members of LUMT to compete in two National Championships. Matt became Loyola's 3rd ever All-American, earning 17 Ranks as a Defense Attorney. He will graduate as the most decorated Loyola mocker ever.
With the end of the season comes lots of change; LUMT will lose eleven members due to graduation. But thanks to the hard work and dedication of all those who will be leaving, the groundwork has been laid for LUMT to become a perennial contender on the national stage.
