Loyola has typically done well at the annual Illinois State University Invitational, and the 2013 version of the event was no different. For the first time this season, Loyola Mock Trial placed two teams in the Top Ten at the same tournament!
Both 1130 and 1131 bolted out the gates. 1131 swept the first three rounds, going 6-0 after taking two ballots from Culver-Stockton, Bradley, and Michigan State. Round four saw them take on Miami-Ohio, the eventual tournament champions. Despite losing both ballots in the fourth round, 1131 finished in 3rd place after winning the tiebreaker at 6-2.
1130 also had a strong start. The team split the ballots with Lewis in round one and then won two ballots against both Culver-Stockton and Ohio State. They then dropped two close ballots to Cornell College - the tournament runner-up - in round four. The 5-3 record put them in 8th place.
