Yet another trip to the nation's capital ended less-than-excellent for Loyola Mock Trial. This time the team traveled to the Georgetown University Hilltop Invitational. Loyola's 495 - named Team Keith Olbermann for the weekend - began the tournament by facing Deleware for the first time ever. Olbermann played a tight round, and tied a ballot and won the other by a single point. In round two against Princeton, Olbermann split the ballots, winning by 4 and losing by 14. The team then dropped both ballots to Maryland by 2 and 11 points. In the final round, Olbermann beat Maryland-Baltimore County by 23 and 34 points to finish 4-3-1 on the weekend.
It wasn't all bad news for Team Olbermann, however, as they were the winners of the Spirit of AMTA trophy - an award voted on by the teams and given to the team that most exemplifies AMTA's values. In addition, the real Keith Olbermann responded to a Tweet by Junior Dominique Ritvo. So at the very least, Loyola Mock Trial now has a famous fan rooting for us on the road to Orlando!
