36th AMTA National Championship Tournament

​​Hosted by Loyola University Chicago
Loyola University Chicago will host the American Mock Trial Association National Championship on April 17-19, 2020.  The tournament is the culminating event of the American Mock Trial Association's season.  The three-day competition will bring 48 teams from across the country to downtown Chicago.  Two teams will advance to the final National Championship trial on Sunday evening, the winner of which will be crowned the National Champion.

Founded in 1985, AMTA serves as the governing body for intercollegiate mock trial competitions. Each year, more than 5,000 undergraduate students representing 650 teams from 350 colleges and universities compete in AMTA-sanctioned tournaments.

Friday, April 17
  • 11:30am - 12:30pm: Team Check-In at The Murphy, 50 E. Erie Street
  • 1:00pm - 2:30pm: Opening Ceremony at The Murphy
  • 2:30pm - 3:00pm: Captains Meeting at The Murphy - Due to space restraints, please do not bring your demonstrative aids, simply bring pictures or show them to the opposing team in your courtroom before Round 1.
  • 5:30pm - 6:00pm: Team Arrival/Security at The Daley Center - No teams will be able to enter The Daley Center until 5:30pm, please plan accordingly.
  • 6:30pm - 9:30pm: Round 1 at The Daley Center 
Saturday, April 18
  • 8:00am - 9:00am: Team Arrival at The Daley Center
  • 9:00am - 9:30am: Captains Meeting
  • 9:45am - 12:45pm: Round 2 at The Daley Center
  • 2:00pm - 2:30pm: Captains Meeting
  • 2:45pm - 5:45pm: Round 3 at The Daley Center
Sunday, April 19
