This season was Loyola's eighteenth in competition. For the first time ever, Loyola was awarded the American Mock Trial Association National Championship. ​Unfortunately, the COVID-19 global health crisis cut the season short and forced the cancellation of the National Championship Tournament. The case was the State of Midlands v. Jordan Ryder. The State has charged Ryder with the murder and voluntary manslaughter of Ryder's child, Parker Paige.  Paige fell to her death while she and Ryder were at the Calkins Campground. The State alleges that Ryder intentionally pushed Paige off the side of a cliff.
